I recently got some Harry Potter Merchandise from the Wizarding World and the Warner Bros Studio Tour, let me show you what I got
These are the items that I purchased on a recent trip to the Harry Potter Studios in December
And I’m sure you’ll guess that I didn’t just apparate over to Orlando to go to the Wizarding World not just because intercontinental apparition is very dangerous… these items were purchased online and also via a friend that lives in the US
So let me start off with the items that I purchased from the Harry Potter Studios here in the UK
First item is these Exploding Bonbons
now I’ve always wanted to buy sweets from Honeydukes and I love them on my shelf, I love a bit of Honeydukes, I love a bit of Wizarding world
something to put on my shelf so this is why I went for that item and I just think they’re really pretty I love the design
I’m assuming designed by the duo that is MinaLima that designed all the packaging for the Wizarding world
packaging in the films and in the shops, so of course I was gonna get this little bit of magic
Another item is this Slytherin inquisitorial squad badge
well not Slytherin, I mean it could’ve gone to others but the Slytherins wear it – I just think it’s really cute
although this isn’t screen accurate, I will work on making a screen accurate ribbon eventually but this I would say is probably the closest size to the actual prop
when I do go back to the Harry Potter studios I will take this and ask one of the interactors to hold this up to the actual prop, so I can see the size comparison – I love doing that, I love seeing how close like merchandise and stuff is to the actual props
They do often get it very very close, so that’s what I’ll do next,
Next item and I’m not about to have it dangling from my rearview mirror in my car
and I’m sure you can probably guess what it is…
but it’s the Shrunken Head – like toy basically and it is
quite hideous at the same time as being quite a great prop replica
this comes with this like twine thread that hangs through his head
It does actually talk and there’s a little button at the bottom
I mean very fun but I guess quite annoying to people that you might live with but I do really enjoy it, it’s really fun I mean I guess you couldn’t even play with the hair like if i wanted to do plaits and customise it I guess you could even make it more screen replica
Next up are items from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando
now they have a lot of items that aren’t available at the Harry Potter Studios here in the UK
so when I see people taking videos of the shops and just posting about merchandise they buy
I am then made aware of things and some you can buy online and get shipped over
obviously there’s a more of a expensive delivery cost but some of the items can be picked up…
that only can be picked up in person so I have to ask a friend that lives in the US to go and pick it up for me
and one of the items I saw recently and it wasn’t really a merchandise thing but it’s something from Gringotts
and I’ll start off with this one, from what I believe it is it’s actually a money token
so it… the equivalent is ten dollars, so it’s not legal tender and not redeemable for cash, but it’s valid only at participating locations throughout universal Orlando Resort
It is a prop replica of the Gringotts cheque, that is very prevalent in the Gringotts set at the Warner Bros Studio Tour
They have like piles of these there, like super glued down so people don’t steal them
but when I saw that this was a pretty brilliant prop replica, even though it’s like you know, a cash token well not cash token but you …know what I mean
next item I got you would have seen in a recent video I did regarding the love potion
and I did a comparison between this love potion which is from the Wizarding world of Harry Potter
and the love potion that is from the noble collection Hermione box and you can see that HERE
but this is actually I believe liquid candy – yes liquid sweets so it’s liquid candy
and it tastes similar to I would say like liquid Turkish delight, it’s like rose watery syrup
I like that flavour, I know some people don’t really like that but I like it
but very cute and I love the fact that you can actually drink from it so it’s more of a usable prop
which I’m not sure you can actually fill the noble collection bottle, but yeah
I’ve always wanted to have this so I can compare it to two and now I do have it and I think it’s really cute, it’s lovely and yeah, just super pleased that I now have that as part of this little prop replica, I just love little things like this
Another item from Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes is of course the Decoy Detonator
again not sure why this isn’t available at the Harry Potter Studios here in the UK it is a toy and I don’t know how screen accurate it is
but I think I love the packaging, again that’s designed, I would assume designed by MinaLima and I’ve already taken it out because I have it on display
and it’s this little toy that it’s not a wind, it’s not a wind-up toy
it actually you, it’s one of those, it’s like a car where you pull it back and then it it goes off
and it does make a noise like, I did pull the tab out
and it does but I don’t know if it’s going to do it like, if it actually needs to go a little bit more like
so yeah this is super cute, I just think I like the decoy detonator, I think it’s a really ingenious bit of creativity from the Weasleys and obviously from the book – realised in this little Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes bit of merchandise
now I do love a lot of Quidditch items, so I’ve got a little snitch which you can see just down there
there are more items that you can purchase not available again at the Harry Potter studios, I think I did see it once there
I’m not sure if they sold out and stopped making it for some reason, but the moment only available
at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it is this Bludger bat and ball set
Made of foam – I guess you would use this bat and ball set to play with – I would be scared to damage it
I would love a real wooden version of this because that would just be immense
it does come as a single like this, you really do need two but I didn’t go for two yet
but really pleased I now have this as part of my Quidditch, which apparently I’m quite obsessed with Quidditch stuff – who knew? I’m not like sporty in the least but I love me myself some magical sports
and then the final item is a very small item and I believe available from Filch’s Emporium
and it wasn’t something I was aware of until again seeing posts by people
and it is this pin badge – little Umbridge kitty pin badge – like how cute is that?
Kat my friend did actually purchase one of these as well and we took it to the studio tour recently and she photographed it amongst this
I would say that the original prop is a little bit more of a a chubby kitty, this one’s a little bit more of a slim kitty but yeah it’s still quite an accurate replica
Something that I didn’t realise was available, but love it!
